Clause 4.4 of ISO 9001 requires an organization to establish, implement and maintain a quality management system and its processes. To do so, the organization must first identify the customer requirements. Once the customer requirements are known, the organization must determine the processes needed to deliver the product or service.

The organization must then plan and implement the processes and monitor and control them to ensure they are effective and efficient. Finally, the organization must take corrective and preventive action to address any nonconformities that may arise.

  • Identification and traceability of the product.
  • Handling, storage, packaging, preservation, and delivery of the product.
  • Control of nonconforming products, including corrective action and preventive action.
  • Analysis of data for trends.
  • Monitoring and measuring the product against the product requirements.
